Every year, ZooBoo provides all the fun festivities the season has to offer in a family-friendly event. Fall is already one of the best times to visit the Zoo with the animals out and active in mild temperatures. Add a Halloween twist full of decorations, photo opportunities and all your favorite ZooBoo activities for a day your family will love!The Zoo opens at 9am, so come out early to enjoy a great fall day! Meet a Hero is a special event that takes place every other year as the world turns its attention to the Circle City for the celebration of the Indianapolis Prize, the world's leading award for animal conservation.Visitors of the Indianapolis Zoological Society will have the rare opportunity to meet some of the world's most respected animal conservationists, including the 2016 winner and finalists of the Indianapolis Prize, and find inspiration in their stories.



Indianapolis Prize Lecture Series

Conservation pioneer, leader and hero, Dr.Carl Jones is credited with saving species on the brink of extinction. Jones' four decades of legendary work have directly revitalized multiple endangered animal populations and habitats, perhaps most famously, the Mauritius kestrel. Jones will offer insights on restoring a number of species, including birds, reptiles and mammals, in addition to the ecosystems of Mauritius in these presentations. He will highlight his journey to save the Rodrigues fruit bat, pink pigeon, echo parakeet and more from disappearing forever.
